I love the lake. It's so peaceful and comforting. My favorite time to go to the lake is the morning after a storm. It feels so rugged and natural.
The primitive cabins area was great, our family took 7 of the 10 cabins & the kitchen area as well. Beautiful spot & the cabins were amazing.
I kwould like to start by saying the views on this lake are beautiful. But that is as far as I would go, we rented a resort cabin that was able to sleep 6 it was to be a complete kitchen. Well if you consider 1 6" fry pan, a 1 qt pot, and a 4qt pot, 3 plates, 4 small bowls, no grill utensils, no salt and pepper, and not even a sponge to clean the dishes with. (There was however only 2 of us) we did just fine. Also the front porch light and the back porch light did not work. We got asked 2 days before we arrived if we could change cabins as some renter screwed up and wanted our cabin longer than planned. Well that was a big mistake. We got moved to the cabin next door (poor view, smaller deck) I could see the other cabins view never do that again. Thought we might rent a boat and cruise the lake. Well again that did not happen the boats we're broken since 2016. So we just hiked the trails. But not even the nature signs on the trails are maintained. On a good note they do allow pets, and the staff we met were very nice and we're apologetic for the problems. I would only go back if they fixed all the issues. Mind you I'm not looking for a 5 star hotel. Just what was advertised.
This lake is very peaceful and quiet. They have cabins of all sizes. If you get a certain amount of the cabins ( group event) the kitchen and pavilion comes with it. We get it for our family reunion. Some cabins have two ten beds... some have one queen bed... most have a screened in porch...a small bathroom and a couple do not have any bathroom but there's a shower room and restroom in the midst of the cabins. There are also fully equipped large multiple room cabins as well. If you get the small cabins be sure to bring your own linen.
Best campsite ever...better than Broken Bow in terms of open space and tranquility!!
